Siguiendo los pasos de la película de ficción Minority Report fue la presentación realizada por el Director de Investigación de Microsoft, Craig Mundie, en un auditorio repleto de estudiantes universitarios.
En su exposición Mundie utilizó una especie de pantalla transparente, con la cual se puede interactuar sin ningún tipo de contacto y en la que se van desplegando las imágenes. Esta interfaz también reconoce las voces de sus interlocutores, detecta los movimientos de las manos e, incluso, es capaz de seguir los movimientos de los ojos para navegar.
De momento esta interfaz sólo forma parte de un proyecto de investigación de la compañía, sirviendo como base para probar múltiples tecnologías que actualmente se encuentran en desarrollo. Con seguridad muchas de estas tecnologías las veremos aplicadas en el denominado Proyecto Natal, que debería ver la luz hacia el segundo semestre del próximo año.
